New Diabetes Fellowship Applications Open

New Diabetes Fellowship Application Timeline and Process

There will be an application process for new programs to seek one-time seed funding for the first year of their program. The amount that is available is $150,000 one time. Funding is available for up to 3 programs this year.

  • Applications will be available for 2023 immediately upon publication of this notice

    • Application is available on the American College of Diabetology website

  • Application deadline is September 1, 2023

  • New Program Committee will review applications based on a rubric.

    • The committee will have until the August ACD meeting to evaluate and rank programs, and will present to the entire board

    • Five programs will be ranked with the intention of funding three immediately. Two programs will be alternates in the event that up to 2 of the top 3 programs cannot be funded that year for any reason.

  • Programs will be notified of their status of being funded by August 15 to provide time to plan and utilize funds for the next academic year’s fellow

  • This will be an annual process. Programs not funded during one cycle may reapply for consideration in the next cycle

  • If chosen, there will be an agreement signed between the funded program and the American College of Diabetology regarding check-in meetings, milestones, and reports. The goal is to provide the funding you need in December of 2023 for this cycle.

  • Questions can be directed to Amber.Healy@ACDiabetology.org
